Discrepancies for payment Period 9 (June 2-29) August 1st payment

For the periods of time covered by the previous two payment periods (#7 and #8), everything is looking close enough (# of units sold don’t match up and proceeds off by a few % points even when using Apple’s exchange rate but nothing to worry about). For the August 1st payment though (period 9 covering June 2nd - June 29th), there is a larger discrepancy between units sold and proceeds during that time period and the estimated payment coming tomorrow (August 1st).

Anyone else experiencing this? Did it get resolved with the actual payment (I'll see mine in my account in a few days).

My proceeds for period 9 (based on data from App Store Connect > Trends > Proceeds with date range June 2nd - June 29th) were $1,227.83 USD. Under Trends > Units > Transaction Type I have 100 units “Paid” and 2 units “Refund”, so 98 units counting towards proceeds I would assume.

In Payments and Financial Reports for the month of June though (which I assume matches Period 9 June 2-29), I am seeing only 65 total units sold (not 98) and the total estimated proceeds are $1,203.29 Canadian or roughly $872 USD. So $355 USD less than my proceeds would indicate and 33 units less. Note that I have two apps with multiple time periods for subscriptions so the dollar value of each unit is all over the place. I was expecting $1,668 Canadian or so (using the 1.36 exchange rate Apple shows in the estimated payment * the proceeds shown of $1,227.83 USD), not $1,203 Canadian.

There weren't a flood of sales on June 1st/2nd or June 29th/30th so I don't think this is caused by timezone differences or anything like that.

I’m using https://itunesconnect.apple.com/WebObjects/iTunesConnect.woa/wa/jumpTo?page=fiscalcalendar to determine dates for August 1st payment.

Perhaps the payment tomorrow will be 38% higher than the estimate but that would seem way off.

Period 7 “April” Mar 31 - May 4: Trends > Proceeds indicates 13 units for $107 USD * 1.37 Apple exchange rate = $146 Canadian

Actual payment: $135.46 Canadian with 8 units

Period 8 “May” May 5 - June 1: Trends > Proceeds indicates 55 units for $640 USD * 1.37 Apple exchange rate = $876 Canadian

Actual payment: $855.59 CAD with 49 units

Did you have a spike of “institutional” or similarly unusual downloads at some point during the month?

Even we are receiving the same issue. We received the payment with around 300 USD less than what it shows in Trends > Proceeds (June 2 - June 29).

The numbers from previous months matched the actual amount received at the end of the periods.

Yes I have the exact same issue. I'm down $2000. I have emailed support to try and figure out why. I'm ******!

Yes, observed inflated Trends-sales numbers compared to Jun Payment and Financial Reports. What I observed and fascinating is that every unit number showing in Trends report from Jun 20 to Jun 30 is exactly double compared to actual sales showing in our in-app subscriptions management system. So, Payment and Financial Reports data is correct.

I wish Apple do not accept this and pay whatever is showing in Trends sales chart.😂️️️️

Oh wow.

I believe they have paid us for the period ending a week earlier, i.e. ending June 22, not June 29.

For most of my apps & IAPs, I see numbers in the financial reports that are about 75% of the numbers in Sales & Trends. But in the case of one new item that I added towards the end of June I see only 10% of the expected number, which I think is a "smoking gun".

Time to ask what's going on!

Ah-ha! Well I don't have anything to compare with, but all of my sales for that period are even numbers!

Do we think that they've not paid us at all for the last week, or do we think they've paid the correct (half) amount? I still think they've paid us just for the 3-week period but I could be wrong. I launched something new in the middle of all this which makes it more difficult to see what is going on.

In the end I was paid $1,259 Canadian versus the estimated $1,203 Canadian versus what I expected from the trend proceeds #s which indicated around $1,668 Canadian.

So still wondering about the "missing" $400.

Do you see only even numbers for daily sales for the period June 20 - June 29 ?

I'm also seeing the same discrepancy with my payment. It's usually off by $10 - $50.... but the actual June payment is way off by $500+ compared to proceeds. I'm about send an email to them.

Here is a simple way to tally your sales against your recent payment showing in Payment and Financial Reports

#1. Go to Trends > Units #2. Add Filter Transaction Types - Paid and Refund #3. Change date range Jun-2 to Jun-19 #4. Note down total units for the selected date range. For Example A = 206 #5. Again change date Jun-20 to Jun-29 #6. Note down total units for the new selected date range. For Example B = 258

Actual paid unit sold = A + (B / 2) = 206+(258/2) = 206 + 129 = 335

Compare this with Payments and Financial Reports for Jun month. It is exact match in my case. Hence proved, units sold between Jun-20 to Jun-29 are added twice in Trends chart.

For me, it's close but not exact; it's about 1% out. I guess that could be explained by time zones, or something.

I've also experienced this issue. As mentioned, there appears to be a bug in App Store Connect Trends where unit sales are double counted starting June 21. I wrote a blog post: https://lapcatsoftware.com/articles/2024/8/2.html

It seems that the numbers in Trends for the problematic period change dramatically if you change the timezone from UTC to PDT !!!!!

Has anyone else had a reply from Apple? I've just received a useless FAQ-style reply from them. No acknowledgement of a bug in sales & trends.
