Since I updated to iOS 18, CallKit-linked caller not display on screen of CarPlay. CarPlay display only "{App Name} Caller ID". When iOS version was 17.x, CarPlay displayed caller name of CallKit-linked contact. I think CarPlay should perform the same function as iOS 17. Please review it.

Hello! When trying to talk to text on CarPlay Siri would trip out, as if it were receiving a bunch of concurrent audio inputs. When I tried to video the issue with my phone it worked perfectly. My guess is when videoing the video app was now using my phones mic so it wasn't available for CarPlay and it only received audio input from the car microphone. It's weird because other voice commands and phone calls work just fine. This also happens on every iPhone we connect. My guess is there's some bug where the phone's microphone isn't being shut off properly when plugged in for CarPlay. I reformatted the Alpine iLX-W670 radio and updated firmware. Got new authentic Apple cable Not sure what else to try.

After ios 18 update , the car play on Jeep compass is having issues. If FM is playing and you connect the car to CarPlay , the Fn goes dead totally across stations . Only way to listen to FM again is to switch off the WiFi and disconnect the car play. 2 . even if FM plays and you switch off the car, the car stereo should switch off completely. Now it doesn’t till the time you dont disconnect the car play and switch off the WiFi on the phone

I just switched back to Apple Watch from Garmin, and in the time away I got both work and personal vehicles with CarPlay. I've noticed that my AW10 does not get ANY notifications pushed to it while I am using CarPlay, which is annoying because only texts and calls get pushed to my CarPlay screen, so i miss everything else. Additionally, and this may be a bug issue with iOS18, but I also just noticed that my phone (16) does not light up/make sounds for notifications while using CarPlay - so it doesn't light up, nor do the vehicle speakers make sound with IG/snapchat/etc notifications, and even the screen "lock" sound doesn't audibly go off. I've only had CarPlay for a few months, but I typically keep my phone on Silent anyway, so maybe I'm just noticing this now and its not necessarily a new issue? it does make the sound when i get a text, so logically everything else should make a noise. I've made sure that my general focus and car focus modes are OFF. Sound is ON. Sound volume setting is all the way up. Have also restarted both phone and watch, and “forgot“ the phone from the vehicle and reconnected Am I doing something wrong here? is there a solution for either problem? From what I've seen, some people say that the AW not getting notifications at the same time as Carplay is a built-in safety feature, which most people do not want... maybe its the same with the phone not alerting to non-text/call notifications?

Currently, when on the phone, like Spotify, I fully close the Spotify app, and in Carplay, when the user clicks on the Spotify app, this app can open as normal. I also developed my app but when I open the app in carplay, it shows a white screen, and then the app auto-terminates (closes permanently). How Can I do the behavior like the Spotify app, My app also enabled background mode in xCode. Please help me. Thanks so much

Messages have disappeared after the iOS 18 b 3 update. It isn’t even shown as an option. Where did it go and when do we get it back?

Any updates on Carplay not connecting to IOS 18? Mine was perfectly fine until I went from an iPhone 11 without the update to a 16. Now connection is spotty and I constantly have to forget and repair my phone.

My CarPlay is not working since upgrading to iOS 18. The speaker is monotone, only comes out of one of my car speakers. This is incredibly frustrating please fix. I’ve also found that scrolling through the different apps is not as dynamic as it was in the past.

After upgrading to iOS 18 CarPlay with 2023 Lexus and iPhone 15 Pro Max shows multiple issues: • speakers reduced to Mono sound (going back to normal after some minutes and then reducing again) • no speaker sound at all • touching / moving phone while driving resulting in “on and off” sound No Reboot / Shutdown helps No Cable connection works @Apple: do you test your software professionally or is this outsourced to the community? I have sync 3.4 on my ford F150 - CarPlay does not work with iOS 18.1. Sync says I don’t have anything connected. Something is up.

I upgraded to IOS 18 earlier this week. When I used Apple Maps on Carplay last night, Siri would only say that it was looking for directions. The destination never came through CarPlay. It should have been an easy one, as I was taking someone to the airport to fly to Atlanta.

When connecting a phone on iOS 18 to CarPlay, the audio system of my car works with small freezes, especially when making calls via phone. Artifacts appear on the screen of the car's head unit and everything works in slow motion. I hope this is an iOS 18 error and it will be fixed

Iphone 13mini updated to ios18. Carplay is wired on my 2021 RAM Laramie. After the update => Premium audio is lost, I can only hear low quality audio. When I manually change to Bluetooth instead of usb on the car, then audio comes in speaker mode on my phone and not on the truck.

I recently updated my iOS operating system to the latest iOS18. Immediately after updating my CarPlay begin having issues. I began Troubleshooting and came up with some conclusions. If anyone can help that would be amazing. When NOT connected to carplay via cable, the Bluetooth works perfectly. When connected via cable to CarPlay the system is does not recognize Bluetooth. The phone begins to play through speakerphone, radio turns on and is playing in background. please help fix this issue. I can not have carplay not working along with Bluetooth in vehicle.

We are using the MediaPlayer API to provide CarPlay support. Starting in iOS 18 we are having issues updating the content list. The initial list of items will populate on a fresh instance but soon there after an error will show up saying we are not entitled to "com.apple.mediaremote.external-artwork-validation". From that point onwards no changes we make to our MPPlayableContentDataSource are reflected in CarPlay. Even after restarting the device. While the MediaPlayer API is marked as deprecated, we are still using it to provide CarPlay support going back to iOS 10. Has anyone else run into this or have suggestions for workarounds?
