Less write iOPS on Virtual Machine as compare to Host

Hi Everyone,

I've created a Virtual Machine with configuration of 4 GB RAM and 7 vCPU using native framework on Sonoma hardware.

But on Sonoma Hardware I'm getting 2500MB/sec write iOPS and, on virtual machine it's around 700MB/sec. And, this is affecting the performance.

is there anyway that I can increase the write iOPS on virtual machine?

First, is this using the VZVirtioBlockDeviceConfiguration? The other block device types are not as fast since they are emulated rather than paravirtualized.

Can you please the very latest beta of macOS Sonoma? (Beta 4 or above). It has some changes on the block device that are relevant for performance.

If you still observe the same performance gap on the fourth beta, can you please file a bug report with the Feedback Assistant? The more details you have to reproduce, the better.

d 700MB/sec

Hi, Thanks for the quick reply.

I'm using the same block configuration as you've mentioned. But my use case is to launch different OS on same hardware. Like I want to launch Ventura, Monterey and, Sonoma on Sonoma hardware, so how performance can be improved on these OS?
