I am just starting to learn swiftui. I saw a demo where you could drag and drop elements (label, button, slider, etc...)onto the device canvas and then the code would be inserted. I'm using the latest Xcode.

It sounds to me like you're looking for Swift Playgrounds! Here's the link: https://developer.apple.com/swift-playgrounds/ for the documentation, but you can download it on a Mac or iPad from the App Store.
