EtreCheck (from Etresoft, Inc)

Hello

I've noticed that this product, heavily promoted on the ASC forums for many years, is no longer available from the Apple App Store.

Can anyone tell me the reason why the product is no longer supported?

Friends have asked me if it is 'safe' to use.

Is it?

Note to moderator: If I'm asking in the wrong places, please redirect my question. Thank you.

Why don't you contact the developer directly?

Hello Charles

I have emailed John Daniel but he has not responded.

My apologies for the delay in responding to you. I've been on a road trip to Somerset.

Sincerely

David

It's still available, and supported, directly from the site. John Daniel answers me when I send email. You are the first person to say that he doesn't reply. I wonder why that might be?

In any case, as it is still supported, who cares?

I'm left wondering WHY a chap like you would be sending emails to John Daniel. Interestingly, you sound just like him!

Hello again! 🙂

I'm wondering why the response by 'Purbeckview' is not recorded here:- https://developer.apple.com/forums/profile/Purbeckview%20?view=replies

I'm also wondering why the post at the link I mentioned has been removed ....... https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/705250

Have YOU any thoughts on these points? There is always a reason ...... for everything!

Thanks.

Have you read here?

So, do YOU recommend EtreCheck as a satisfactory software to be loaded onto an Apple computer?

As you've already discovered, HunterBD is actually a troll named "David Brooks" who is in a feud with various developers of Mac applications.
