Currently if the app is hidden and locked behind face id even though the notifications are not displayed but the Notification Service Extension still wakes up for the notification.
Is it the expected behaviour ? Or should we expect the NSE would not be used as well when the app is hidden.
This is not the expected behavior. Our engineering teams need to investigate this issue, as this might indicate an issue with iOS 18 Beta.
We would like to see a Feedback report about this with some diagnostic logs in order to investigate why you are seeing this behavior.
First, please go to https://developer.apple.com/bug-reporting/profiles-and-logs/ and follow the instructions for APNS (Apple Push Notification Service) to install a logging profile on your device.
Once that is installed, recreate the problem, and then follow the instructions at the above link to trigger a sysdiagnose.
Once you have that, please file a Feedback report using the Feedback Assistant Attach the sysdiagnose and a sample project if you have one, and reproduction steps you have taken.
